Paraglider Makes Emergency Landing at Busy Ski Resort Packed with Tourists After Flying for 2 Hours

A paraglider was forced to make an emergency landing at a busy ski resort in South Korea after flying for two hours.
The impromptu landing was filmed by a guest at Muju Deogyusan Resort on Thursday, Feb. 19, and later shared by ViralHog. Footage of the incident shows the resort packed with guests as skiers and snowboarders make their way down the intermediate Silk Road Slope.
Later in the clip, guests begin to glance up as the paraglider’s red wing appears to inch closer and closer towards the ground. At one point, one guest lifts their ski pole to point at the incoming paraglider.

As the paraglider flies directly over the slope, they appear to almost land on the ground before abruptly ascending back into the air.
Multiple snowboarders can be seen zig-zagging around them before appearing to clear a path for their landing.
The paraglider hovers above the snowy slope before their feet finally make contact with the ground and they run to come to a complete stop.
Speaking to ViralHog, the bystander who filmed the unexpected landing said the incident “surprised” people at the scene, however there were thankfully no collisions or injuries.

“The paraglider suddenly descended and landed near a busy intermediate ski slope where many skiers were present, surprising people at the scene,” they told ViralHog.
They noted that the paraglider was flying for about two hours and was unable to find a safe landing area, thus resulting in the emergency ski slope landing.
“Ski resort patrol staff quickly responded to control the area, and police officers later arrived to investigate the cause of the emergency landing,” the bystander added.
