Israeli military says Iran launched more missiles at Israel

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Monday that Iran again fired missiles at Israel in a conflict that started with an Israeli attack on Iran on Friday.

The IDF, in posts on its Telegram channel shortly after 4 am (0100 GMT), said it had identified missiles headed from Iran to Israel.

Several missiles struck central Israel, according to the local Magen David Adom rescue service. The service reported several injuries. Explosions were heard in the centre of Tel Aviv, followed by ambulance sirens.

Later, the IDF said that residents could leave shelters and that search and rescue teams had been deployed to multiple locations across the country.

The Israeli Air Force earlier said fighter jets had struck launch sites for surface-to-surface missiles in Iran, apparently in an attempt to pre-empt a further Iranian attack.
