Cynthia Erivo Channels Elphaba in Maison Margiela, Meagan Good Wears Plunging Eman AlAjlan Dress and More at the 2025 Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards

Vibrant colors and playful silhouettes dominated Thursday’s 2025 Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards. Held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, the event saw the likes of Zoë Kravitz, Issa Rae, Meagan Good, Laverne Cox, Storm Reid, Tia Mowry and more stars on the red carpet.
This year, the event was hosted by Aldis Hodge with honorees including Cynthia Erivo, Teyana Taylor, Marla Gibbs and Raamla Mohamed. Here, a closer look at the red carpet looks from the ceremony.
Cynthia Erivo

Inspired by her character Elphaba in “Wicked,” Cynthia Erivo wore a black tulle dress from Maison Margiela’s fall 2022 collection. She completed the look with Tabi shoes from the Maison Margiela and Christian Louboutin collaboration. Jason Bolden styled the actress.
Zoë Kravitz

Zoë Kravitz favored a Grecian-inspired jersey minidress from Saint Laurent. The white ensemble featured elasticated waistband and cuffs. She completed the look with Saint Laurent sandals, oval sunglasses and golden jewelry.
Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox took a break from her Mugler style strike and wore a Thom Browne look. Her outfit featured a gray checkered blazer with multiple pockets, cinched with a black harness at the waist. Her pleated skirt was paired with black knee-high stockings and matching shoes.
Issa Rae

Issa Rae wore a vibrant orange dress with a strapless silhouette, featuring ruching details on the bodice. The actress was styled by Wouri Vice, who completed her look with golden sandals.
Meagan Good

Meagan Good played with proportions, wearing a peachy corset gown by Eman AlAjlan featuring a beaded, plunging bustier that transitioned into a peplum miniskirt and a sheer train. She completed the look with strappy sandals. Good was styled by Philippe Uter.
Tia Mowry

Tia Mowry suited up in pinstripes, wearing a double-breasted blazer by Anine Bing, which she wore with a matching miniskirt.
Storm Reid

Styled by Jason Bolden, Storm Reid wore a youthful look from Cong Tri’s spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection.
