Meet Ella Titus: The Designer Behind Vellachor

“Vellachor is rooted in classic art, antiques, romance and nostalgia think fearless pieces that make you feel powerful, confident, and totally unstoppable.”

Meet Ella Titus, the creative force behind the rising label Vellachor, a brand that’s quickly becoming fashion’s new obsession. With a knack for designing pieces that rooted in classic art, antiques, romance and nostalgia and unapologetically chic, Ella has built a world where elegance meets everyday confidence. Her collections aren’t just about what you wear they’re about how you feel when you step into the room. Think power, poise, and a touch of daring. As Vellachor turns heads on runways and in wardrobes, Ella opens up about the inspiration behind her designs, the woman she creates for, and what’s next on her style radar.

  • “Vellachor is all about making women feel fearless and fabulous.”

  1. 1.Origin story, please! Vellachor has such a strong identity what was the “aha” moment when you knew you had to launch your own label?

Ella Titus: Honestly, my story started when I picked up a needle and taught myself to sew at just five years old, and I’ve pretty much been creating ever since. Growing up in a small town in Iowa, I used to spend hours wandering around my grandfather’s antique store, completely fascinated by all the old, beautiful things that seemed to hold a life of their own. That’s really where my creative voice came to life. Vellachor was born from that emotion. The name itself comes from “vellichor,” which describes the strange wistfulness you feel in used bookstores, that beautiful sense of time passing. I wanted my brand to capture that same feeling: timeless, soulful pieces that speak straight from the heart.

       2. The vibe check. If you had to sum up Vellachor’s style in three words, what would they be and why?

Ella Titus: If I had to sum up Vellachor’s style in three words, it would be artistry, romance, and nostalgia with a little touch of whimsy. Those are the heart and soul of everything I create. Each piece is designed to feel like wearable art, something that instantly transports you into another world. When you put on Vellachor, you’re not just getting dressed, you’re stepping into a story and becoming part of a living breathing piece of art.

       3. Behind the seams. What’s your creative ritual like? Do ideas hit you in random moments, or do you have a design process you stick to?

Ella Titus: Ideas tend to find me in the most unexpected ways, sometimes it’s the folds of a Renaissance gown in a painting, the curve of a marble statue, or a piece of lace I spot. When an idea won’t leave my head, that’s when I know it’s meant to become part of a collection. I’ll start building around that feeling, pulling fabrics and sketches until the vision feels alive. Every piece begins as an emotion and from there I sketch, sample, and refine until the emotion I first felt translates into something you can wear.

       4. Fashion with a conscience. We hear so much about sustainability and craftsmanship right now how do those values play into the way you build Vellachor?

Ella Titus: For me, sustainability isn’t just about reducing waste, it’s about respect. Respect for the materials, for the process, and for the time that goes into making something truly beautiful. Vellachor is made-to-order and produced in small batches, so nothing is created without purpose. I also love working with deadstock fabrics because they already have a story and I enjoy adding a new life to them. I want every piece to feel intentional, like something you’ll treasure and keep forever, not just wear once.

        5. The Vellachor muse. Who do you imagine slipping into your designs? Describe the kind of woman who embodies the Vellachor spirit.

Ella Titus: The Vellachor woman is someone who romanticizes life, she finds beauty in the small things, whether that’s getting lost in an art museum or wandering through an antique market on a Sunday afternoon. She has an old soul but a modern spirit; she loves timeless silhouettes, rich textures, and pieces that make her feel like the main character in her own story. I always imagine her as effortlessly chic and a little mysterious. And yes, seeing someone like Chappell Roan in a Vellachor gown? That would be a total dream moment.

        6. Spill the tea. What’s next for Vellachor? Any collabs, dream projects, or upcoming drops you can let us in on?
