Netanyahu criticizes investigation into leaks from his office

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sharply criticized an ongoing investigation into suspected leaks that allegedly originated in his office.

In a video message posted on X on Saturday evening, Netanyahu spoke of a “witch hunt” against him and his staff.

He also claimed that the purpose of the recent indictment of people allegedly involved in the case was to harm him and the citizens of Israel who supported him.

Netanyahu did not provide any further details, however.

According to Israeli media reports, the suspects in the case are accused of passing on secret information with the intention of harming the state of Israel.

In his video, Netanyahu called the accusations “ludicrous.”

The Israeli domestic secret service Shin Bet, the army and the police are involved in the investigation, according to Israeli media reports.

Israeli authorities detained several people earlier this month on suspicion of leaking secret information from Netanyahu’s office.
