Palestinian sources: Over 50 killed in Israel’s new Gaza offensive

More than 50 people have been killed since Israel launched its new offensive in the Gaza Strip overnight, Palestinian sources said on Saturday.

Around 80 others have been injured, according to medical sources in the coastal area.

The figures, which do not distinguish between combatants and civilians, could not initially be independently verified.

The Israeli military said it was “conducting extensive strikes and mobilising troops to achieve operational control in the areas of Gaza.”
