US: S&P 500, Nasdaq open higher on Alphabet boost; jobs data on tap

The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq opened higher on Wednesday (Sep 3) after Alphabet gained on a favourable antitrust ruling and investors awaited labour market data that could influence the central bank’s upcoming interest-rate decision.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 13.6 points, or 0.03 per cent, at the open to 45,309.43.
The S&P 500 rose 30.3 points, or 0.47 per cent, at the open to 6,445.82, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 182.0 points, or 0.86 per cent, to 21,461.627 at the opening bell. REUTERS
