Dame Helen Mirren is Pretty in Pink Martin Grant Gown & Bottega Veneta Mules at 29th SCAD Savannah Film Festival
The vibrant monochrome look was put together by Mirren's stylist Lee Harris.

Legend of Entertainment Award recipient Dame Helen Mirren attended a screening and panel for her film “A Talent for Murder” held during the 29th SCAD Savannah Film Festival on Oct. 24 in Savannah.
For the event, Mirren and her stylist Lee Harris created a monochrome pink look with a spotlight shone on a Martin Grant gown. The actress’ vibrant gown consisted of a conservative mock neckline and long sleeves that gave way to a voluminous A-line skirt. The garment was constructed of a fabric that read almost neon pink. It was slightly shiny, especially under the camera’s flash. Grant is an Australian designer with an impressive wrap sheet.

Beyond the Dame, the Aussie designer has created outfits for Naomi Campbell, Cate Blanchett, Emma Stone, Tilda Swinton, and Lady Gaga, among others. As we’ve seen in his work for Mirren, Grant’s design style is one that is architectural in nature. Grant creates sculptural forms from evening gowns to suits that feature oodles of personality. Bold colors and prints are not something Grant shies away from, although he has been known to create more wearable ensembles living in a more neutral zone. Puffy sleeves, angular cuts, and tailored outerwear have served as signatures for Grant’s designs.
It is plain to see why Mirren was so infatuated with Grant’s designs. Every wearer is greeted with a fit and flair that is exceedingly flattering, crafted to further enhance beauty. Harris offered Mirren further coverage and warmth beneath her gown with black nylon tights, a wardrobe staple for most during the colder months. Around her neck, the “Prime Suspect” actress wore a statment-making necklace with a floral pendant attached, hailing from Lawrence Vrba. The floral shape was embedded with pink gemstones.

In order to match her dress, Mirren wore Bottega Veneta pointed-toe mules crafted of high-shine neon pink leather. The fabric utilized was placed so that it folded in on itself, creating a draping effect throughout the uppers. Towards the ankles, the designer shoe takes an angular turn, transitioning into stiletto heels. As of now, this pointed toe style can be purchased second-hand, retailing for around $400 and above.
Mirren’s film was set for a theatrical release on Oct. 23 and is classified as a crime/thriller flick. The film is adapted from the stage play titled “Switzerland.” The film was directed by Anton Corbijn and features an all-star cast including Olivia Cooke, Alden Ehrenreich, and Juliet Stevenson.
